Heels & Horsepower Magazine

About Us

Welcome to HEELS & HORSEPOWER, South Africa’s premier motoring lifestyle publication.

Our History

A self-confessed petrol-chic and road safety advocate, Vuyi Mpofu is your regular girl-next-door who happens to have an intense passion for cars, trucks and motorbikes. Her love for automobiles began as a toddler when she played ‘spanner boy’ to her father.

Due to the prohibitions of the country at the time, Vuyi pursued a career in Marketing instead, but, not content in an office environment, Vuyi followed her motoring passion and launched Driving In Heels in 2010.

Our Values

Other topics of focus include vehicle maintenance know-how specifically basic maintenance do’s and dont’s which all motorists should know and practice.

Artistically styled throughout, HEELS & HORSEPOWER MAGAZINE emulates the look and feel of a glossy women’s lifestyle magazine. Each article is thoughtfully present to effortlessly convey hard hitting and sometimes technical information in an uncomplicated and palatable manner, for effortless understanding by its readers.

The Future

HEELS & HORSEPOWER MAGAZINE aims to inspire, inform, educate and empower readers. Our trustworthy motoring and lifestyle content is gathered from our partnerships and associations with various leading automotive manufacturers throughout South African and abroad. We are confident that our digital platform will motivate road users to become better motorists, vehicle buyers and owners.

HEELS & HORSEPOWER MAGAZINE is primarily targeted at the discerning female motorist, with an equal embrace of the male reader, thereby making it an authentic family motoring publication.

It’s the little things citizens do.
That’s what will make a difference.
