As a female owned motoring magazine, our interest in child, infant and pregnancy vehicular safety is of the utmost importance. We pride ourselves in sharing sound knowledge relating to family in-car safety with a view informing and educating parents and care givers about how best they can keep their children safe when traveling.
Other topics of focus include vehicle maintenance know-how specifically basic maintenance do’s and dont’s which all motorists should know and practice.

About Vuyi Mpofu – Founder & Editor, Heels & Horsepower Magazine
A self-confessed petrol-chic and road safety advocate, Vuyi Mpofu is your regular girl-next-door who happens to have an intense passion for cars, trucks and motorbikes. Her love for automobiles began as a toddler when she played ‘spanner boy’ to her father. Due to the prohibitions of the country at the time, Vuyi pursued a career in Marketing instead, but, not content in an office environment, Vuyi followed her motoring passion and launched Driving In Heels in 2010.
Over the years, Vuyi has developed other interactive motoring lifestyle brands namely Gals Garage, Fantastic Fathers and Biking in Heels.
A familiar face on Buyer’s Guide & Ignition GT; the motoring contributor for Bona Magazine; a member of the South African Guild of Motoring Journalists (SAGMJ) and a non-executive Board member of the Retail Motor Industry (RMI), Vuyi is a Juror on the Car of the Year (COTY) competition and hosts a motoring feature on the national radio station – SAfm weekly every Friday at 20:10.

Bongiwe Didiza is an experienced motorcyclist with 8 years biking experience to her name as well as a motorcycle journalist registered with the South African Guild of Motoring Journalists (SAGMJ).
Bongiwe is passionate about all things motorcycles and contributes motorcycle news and reviews to the Biking in Heels section of Heels & Horsepower Magazine. Asides riding and writing about motorcycles, Bongiwe is eager to share information motorcycle safety, protective gear, and motorcycle maintenance.
She rides all types of bikes ranging from cruisers, super bikes to off-roaders and presents the Driving In Heels motoring feature on Umhlobo Wenene FM every Friday at 10:30am exclusively in Xhosa.

About Thembela Moyo – Founder and Owner of Fresh Vision Optometrists & Contributor : Heels & Horsepower
Thembela Moyo qualified as an Optometrist from the University of KwaZulu Natal and is registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa. She is a member of the South African Optometry Association and has over 15 years experience in private practice in her field.
Thembela is passionate about educating people about the importance of eye care and the various corrective processes and products available for different vision concerns. She participates in a few non-profit organisations’ outreach programmes which provide much needed free vision screening, to under privileged children and the elderly. By contributing to Heels & Horsepower Magazine, Thembela aspires to share accurate eye health information as well as dispel myths about eyesight issues faced by South African motorists.
